AAAAhh. With the close of the semester comes this bombardment of work, work, work, Although I think there has been a fairly steady flow of work this whole damn semseter. This is my week: Tuesday: Turn in Grant Proposal (DONE 9:30p 12/4/06) I was thinking of doing a research project using a drama education class to give students an outlet and so that they could learn cooperative learning skills to decrease the time a teacher needs to discipline children rather than work on an activity. That way teachers will get more time to teach and be less stressed about time management. At least this is the situation in my America Reads class. Wednesday: Post an article on vocabulary lessons on blackboard (DONE 10:56a 12/5/06) Thursday: Turn in final paper for Inquiries into Teaching and Learning (9 pages) (DONE) Turn in final assessment for a grade. (DONE) Next week: Tuesday: Turn in Self assessment for Methods and Material of Research (and re-do in the shitty assignments I turned on over the semester to better my grade) (DONE) Wednesday: Turn in 5-7 lesson unit on a teaching the connection betweena young adult novel and a novel from the literary canon fo rTeaching Reading in the English Classroom ( using three other non-litereary texts) I was thinking choosing the theme of the Journey of the Unlikely Hero using The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time Hamlet Hamlet (the Ethan Hawke Version) A song A newspaper article And I have to conjure up journal entries for my 15 hours of observation hours (DONE) Finding connections between the YA novel that I chose for the semester has been quite a stretch. And, I need to work on my application for an apprenticeship with a youth theatre organization. I have the application, need to write a personal statement, get a reccommendation letter, and update my resume. All due this Wednesday. And I need to plan out next semester: Classes I'm registered for: Adolescent Development (20 hours of field observation) Foundations of Educational Linguistics Drama in Education II (mind you I did not take Drama in Education I) Storytelling Drama Activities in the Elementary School Classroom (15 hours of field observation) and Literature and the Adolescent Experience 6 classes altogether. I really should be taking 5, but my motivation is trying to get the classes over with ASAP. I also need to accumulate 100 hour of field research before I start student teaching next year.So far I have 30. 70 more to go! If I get the job, that would require 20 hours a week. I still want to keep my America Reads job, which is 10 hours a week. I'm just thinking out loud. I feel like there's more I have to do. I just want this semseter to be over. It's ridiculous how bad I don't want to do these assignments. I just needto sit and do them rather than writing in this silly blog. good day. |
